The NEMA34 closed-loop stepper motor (34IE) represents the highest torque tier in Adampower's closed-loop lineup, integrating a 1000-line incremental encoder into the 86mm NEMA34 frame. With holding torque of 4.5 N·m and 8.5 N·m in 95mm and 134mm length variants, this series provides the ultimate combination of stepper motor affordability and closed-loop positional integrity for heavy-duty industrial applications.

The 34IE series is built on the 34K280 and 34K2120 motor platforms, each offered with three current ratings (3.0A, 4.5A, and 6.0A). The substantial 14mm shaft diameter ensures robust torque transmission, while the differential encoder outputs maintain signal integrity in electrically noisy industrial environments. Recommended operating voltage is 60V DC to achieve optimal high-speed torque performance.

The NEMA34 closed-loop configuration delivers significant advantages in heavy industrial applications where the cost savings over servo systems are substantial but positional reliability cannot be compromised. The encoder feedback enables the driver to maintain precise position control despite the large rotor inertia and high load torques. The closed-loop active damping effectively suppresses the resonance and vibration that can plague large stepper motors, while the automatic current management reduces the substantial heat generation that would otherwise occur in large-frame motors during extended hold periods.
